The wrestling world is mourning tonight after TMZ confirmed that Andy Williams, The Butcher, has died following a frightening collapse during an independent wrestling match. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office told TMZ that Williams passed away Saturday night after his medical emergency at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania.
The incident happened Saturday night at Enjoy Wrestling’s Five-Year Anniversary event, held at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania. Williams was teaming with his longtime partner, The Blade, when the situation turned into a medical emergency.
What Happened In The Ring
According to multiple fans in attendance, the match was proceeding normally when Williams’ legs suddenly buckled and he went down to the mat. The Blade reportedly signaled for help right away and tried to get his partner back on his feet, but Williams collapsed a second time and lost consciousness.
Those at ringside said medical personnel poured ice on him before paramedics took over, reportedly performing chest compressions and using a defibrillator. Williams was then taken to the hospital by ambulance, and Enjoy Wrestling canceled the remainder of the show.
Enjoy Wrestling confirmed the collapse in an official statement, saying their on-site doctors treated Williams immediately and administered CPR until the ambulance arrived. The promotion added that they sent fans home and had staff waiting at the hospital for updates.

Death Officially Confirmed
Later Saturday night, wrestling podcaster Famous Davis had first reported that Williams passed away at Allegheny General Hospital, though AEW and hospital officials had not yet issued a statement at the time.
That uncertainty has now been resolved. TMZ reports that the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Williams’ death directly to them Sunday morning. No official cause of death has been released, and an autopsy is expected following the Labor Day holiday.

In wrestling, Williams was one half of The Butcher and The Blade, a tag team that built its name on the independent circuit before signing with AEW in November 2019. The duo also frequently worked alongside Brody King as a trio during their AEW run, teaming together in various tag matches.
